Delete your account or data

This page is for the Oswaldtwistle Pharmacy website and app. It explains how to delete your account, what gets deleted, what we have to keep and for how long, and how to ask for a copy of your data or have it erased.

Delete your account yourself

  1. Open Your account (in the app or on the website) and sign in.
  2. Open Delete my account and type your password.
  3. Press Delete my account. It's deleted straight away.

What's deleted, and what we keep

Deleted straight away: your account's email address, name, mobile number and password.

Kept, because the law or patient safety needs us to:

  • Orders and payments: 6 years, for our accounts and HMRC.
  • Sales of pharmacy medicines, with the health questions you answered: kept as pharmacy records, so a pharmacist can check what was supplied.
  • Appointments, consultations and vaccinations: kept as health records, following the NHS Records Management Code of Practice (generally 8 years after your last care for adults, and longer for children).

These aren't linked to your account, so deleting it doesn't remove them. You can ask us to remove your name and contact details from them (below). Where we have to keep a health record, we keep it but no longer use it for anything else, such as reminders.

Cleared automatically: live chats after 2 years, vaccine waiting list sign-ups after 1 year, and records of which texts we sent after 90 days. The full list is in our privacy notice.

Can't sign in, no account, or want a copy?

Ask us to delete your data, or to send you a copy of everything we hold about you. Tell us your name and the mobile number or email address you used with us. We'll check it's really you, then do it within one month. It's free.
